

Adventures is one of those shows that fall in the, "Yeah, it's not very good, but hey I grew up with it" category of shows. Robotnik and his badnicks, Scratch and Grounder, in self-contained adventures that focus more on Looney Tunes-inspired slapstick comedy. 7 Sonic Christmas BlastĪs the first TV adaptation of Sonic, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog has the titular hero fighting against Dr. Sonic X wasn't that big of a hit in Japan but was such in the States that it warranted a third season. Chris isn't as interesting or helpful as the story continually wants him to be, and it suffers a lot. Not helping was the poor writing and the constant inclusion of Chris Thorndike. However, when it's trying to re-create action-heavy sequences, such as Sonic and Shadow's duel in space, it's clear that it's too much to ask for. Sure, seeing Sonic racing against Chris's Uncle or Sonic playfully toying with Knuckles (like Bugs Bunny does with Daffy Duck) is fine and dandy. One of the show's biggest problems was it's budgeted animation. It's where season 2 starts to come in that everything goes downhill.įrom here, Sonic X veers into adapting the Sonic Adventure games (as well as Sonic Battle) and just doesn't work. The first season was more or less Sonic and pals adapting to life on Earth, with half of the episodes being self-contained one-offs.

Back in the '90s, DiC Entertainment had a monopoly on creating cartoons based on games.
